Week 1: Piloting to Friends
After two months of building Stitch full-time, we sent out our first real invite: Sunday afternoon drinks at the pub. 43 people signed up by the end of the week, and we got a ton of great feedback.
01 Sign-in, sign-up and getting into the app
- One flow now covers both signing in and signing up, with the numbered steps showing only for people who are actually new.
- Signed-out visitors see event pages only, and anything else sends them to sign-in and then back to what they were trying to reach.
- Terms and privacy consent now sits in the sign-up flow, and you can set a profile photo while creating your account.
02 Event page, RSVPs and availability polls
- Hosts can now see availability poll results and pick the event time straight from them.
- The RSVP bar is more prominent before you reply and tucks itself away once you have.
- Comments are limited to people who have RSVP’d or offered a time, guest counts now include hosts, and event cards tease how many people are going.
03 Safety, profiles and account control
- People can block and report other users, and a profile now offers sharing instead of a message button.
- You can now delete your account.
- Profile photos can be edited, and uploading one is more reliable.
04 Look and feel across the app
- Dark mode is now the default.
- Button sizes and the back and cancel buttons were standardised, the nav bar slimmed down and empty states were rewritten.
- The home page calendar view got animations, locations show a short name instead of the full address, and scrolling on iPhone no longer overshoots the page.
